Have you ever wondered how exactly we store propane-butane, so that it can be completely safe? Here are a few interesting facts about the procedures through which LPG passes, in order to be distributed in the commercial network, as well as information about our reliable products.
- Liquefied carbon gas (LPG) exists both as a gas and as a liquid. It is stored in containers under pressure, always in liquid form. When it is in a gaseous state, its volume is 270 times greater than that in liquid state.
- The dimensions of the containers for storage vary – from small camping bottles, through bottles of LPG for barbecues, to large tanks type bullet.
- LPG turns into a liquid when pressure is increased, sometimes by lowering the temperature. The term “pressure” refers to the average force per unit area that the gas exerts on the inner walls of the sealed container.
- The pressure in the storage vessel depends on the temperature maintained—the higher it is, the greater the pressure of the LPG in the cylinder. The pressure of propane ranges from 152 kPa (1.5 bar) at 0ºC to 2482 kPa (24.8 bar) at 70ºC.
