At the end of March, the Liquid Gas Europe Annual Review 2018 report was officially published. It covers the advantages of propane-butane, policies related to its use, and the structure and achievements of the European LPG Association.
We present the main highlights from the report:
In 2018, consumption of LPG
- for domestic use increased by 6% in France
- for industrial needs has increased by 9% in Greece
- for industrial and domestic use increased by a total of 32% in Germany
A total of 15 million cars in Europe use propane-butane, with 2.3 million of them in Italy. Over 46,000 gas stations on the old continent also supply LPG.
Some of the achievements of the European LPG Association are:
- Rebranding of the organization and renaming it from AEGPL to Liquid Gas Europe
- Inclusion of bio propane-butane in the Renewable Energy Directive
- Participation in mass motorcycle events across Europe
- Introduction of strict air quality requirements in European Union countries
- Celebrating 50 years since the association was founded in Brussels
