The restrictions that the current situation places on travel abroad are forcing more and more Bulgarians, lovers of winter sports, to look for a suitable ареа for practising their favourite activities in the country. And while popular resorts such as Bansko, Pamporovo and Borovets are full of tourists, in Bulgaria there are other alternatives for skiers and snowboarders.
We have selected some of them especially for you.
Tsigov Chark

Tsigov Chark is close to the Batak dam and has a 1.2 km long ski slope, suitable for both beginners and established skiers and snowboarders. The lift is in two parts and the lower part has a fairly flat slope for beginner skiers. The upper part can be used by more advanced skiers.
The resort also has a 20 km cross-country ski run. Nearby you can also enjoy the beautiful views, as well as fishing in frozen waters.
Uzana

The Uzana area is located at the foot of Ispolin Peak (1524 m), in the heart of the Central Balkans. It is the widest ridge meadow and its name comes from the Turkish word “uzun”, which means wide, extensive.
The Uzana slopes are not at the level of those in Borovets, for example, but still, everyone can find something interesting. Their total length is 3 kilometres, divided into 8 tracks at an average altitude of 1300-1400 meters. Access to them is easy – they are reached by asphalt road and are suitable for both beginners and more advanced snowboarders and skiers.
Predela

The Predel area is located in the Pirin mountain, 15 km from Bansko, 12 km from Razlog and 40 km from Blagoevgrad. Dozens of resorts are located on the territory of the resort, which offer more than a thousand beds.
At a distance of 1.7 km from Predela, there is a ski slope “Kulinoto” with a length of 1,500 m, on which a ski lift type “Pomagalski” is installed. There is an asphalt road to the track. There are also organized every winter courses for skiers, where everyone can enrol.
Chumerna

The resort is located on the ridge of Stara Planina mountain below Chumerna peak (1536 m). It is 6 two-bedroom houses with a capacity of 42 seats. The surrounding area offers good opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and orienteering. There is a ski slope with a ski lift. The track is reached by an asphalt road and there is a separate parking lot.
Chumerna hut is part of the European tourist route № 3, starting from the Atlantic Ocean and ending at Cape Emine.
Govedartsi

Govedartsi Resort is located in the northwestern part of Rila, 73 km from Sofia, near the river Cherni Iskar and is located at 1200 m above sea level.
About 2 km from the village at the foot of Malak Mechit peak (2535 m) there is a ski slope with a length of 1.5 km to the Mechit hut. The piste is served by a ski lift type “Pomagalski” with a length of 1300 m and a children’s ski lift with a length of 250 m. The valley of the river Lakatitsa in winter becomes a natural piste for cross-country skiing.
