On October 23, 2024, V-Gas held its annual emergency training and drill at the Benkovski LPG facility as part of our ongoing safety improvement program.
In addition to V-Gas employees, external consultants and the team from the Regional Directorate of Fire Safety and Civil Protection (RDFSC) in Plovdiv participated. The exercise involved various simulations and emergency response actions, including the use of a fire truck. The training included multiple demonstrations and practical exercises aimed at strengthening the team’s ability to respond quickly and in a coordinated manner to fires and other emergency situations. It began with video materials on key topics related to emergency readiness and safety, with special emphasis on the mandatory use of anti-static and fire-resistant clothing for all participants.
A key part of the training was working with a fire cannon for cooling equipment, where each team had to follow hand signals from the emergency operations controller. This exercise aimed to enhance coordination and synchronization between teams in real conditions.
An expert consultant demonstrated the use of essential safety equipment, such as fire blankets and half-face masks with newly purchased filters. The use of breathing apparatuses was also explained, which was particularly valuable for the company’s technical units. At the end of the training, mechanics and drivers had the chance to use fire extinguishers to suppress a simulated fire.
Emergency training is an essential component of our commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Each year, we invest in staff training to ensure that our employees are prepared to respond to emergencies effectively.
