On September 13, 2024, a training session on emergency procedures related to working with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was held in Pomorie.
The training was organized for one of the companies in Synergon Holding AD, and was led by our experts – Margarita Kovacheva (Technical and Operational Director, HSE, “V-Gas Bulgaria” EAD) and Kiril Gavazov (Director of GPS Benkovski, “V-Gas Bulgaria” EAD).
The training, which lasted over 5 hours, involved more than 20 participants, including gas station managers and the leadership team of Toplivo AD.
The main goal of the initiative was to enhance the staff’s readiness to respond to emergency situations related to LPG leaks from gas pump hoses. The session included practical exercises on shutting off emergency valves and instructions for preventing gas leaks. Participants also had the opportunity to watch training films on emergency rescue actions at gas stations and storage facilities, as well as films related to fire safety and the correct use of portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets.
A particularly useful part of the training was the lecture delivered by the deputy chief of the Pomorie fire department, who provided valuable information on how to properly extinguish fires involving vehicles with gas installations. After the lecture, a team from the Regional Directorate for Fire Safety demonstrated emergency actions, including the use of specialized fire extinguishing equipment and handling gas installations.
These trainings play a vital role in ensuring the safety of those working with LPG and the security of gas station customers. The annual initiative aims to provide teams with the necessary knowledge and skills to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
