Although propane-butane is among the safest and most environmentally friendly energy sources, adhering to its operational rules is of utmost importance. Follow our safety tips to protect yourself at home and in the workplace. Here are some of them:
+ Use gas appliances and equipment only in well-ventilated areas.
Always check if the spaces where propane-butane is used are well-ventilated, and ensure that air vents are not blocked. It’s crucial to have a fan or extractor hood in your kitchen. If your home has double-glazed windows or is airtight, make sure there is still sufficient circulating air in the room.
+Periodically check if the hose is damaged and if the hermetic connection with the appliances is secure.
Always check the marking on the hose, indicating that it is suitable for LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) or GPL (Gas di Petrolio Liquefatto/Gaz de pétrole liquéfié); both abbreviations denote liquefied hydrocarbon (petroleum) gas. Look for deformations from the correct cylindrical shape. To check for cuts and punctures in the hose, you can use a foaming solution – soap.
+ Regularly clean the burners. + Use certified LPG/GPL gas regulators (valves that reduce pressure). The reducing valve must be upright and airtight. Renew it periodically because, if it is too old, there is a high probability that it is not in working order. Check the tightness of the connecting joints of the reducing valve to the hose using a foaming solution. Ensure that the clamps on the hose are securely tightened.
+ Use gas appliances with modern safety features – a new generation of safer gas appliances.
+ Provide access for the maintenance of gas appliances. All consumer gas appliances must undergo annual technical maintenance.
The gas bottles you use must undergo a full technical inspection and test, provided by V-Gas Bulgaria every 10 years, so it is imperative to return them to one of our retail locations when the deadline expires.
– Do not burn charcoal in enclosed spaces, such as in a closed barbecue.
– Never use ovens or gas burners to heat your home.
– Never place foil around the burners.
– Do not leave gas appliances unattended.
V-Gas complies with all safety requirements of national and European legislation in the field, but consumers must also ensure the safe operation of propane-butane.
