On September 13, 2024, training on emergency response when working with propane-butane was held in Pomorie.

The training was organized for one of the companies in Synergon Holding AD, and it was led by our experts – Margarita Kovacheva (Technical and Operational Director, ZBUT, Vi-Gas Bulgaria EAD) and Kiril Gavazov (Director of GPS Benkovski, Vi-Gas Bulgaria EAD).

More than 20 participants took part in the training, which lasted over 5 hours, including gas station managers and the management team of Toplivo AD.

The main objective of the initiative was to improve staff preparedness to respond to emergencies involving liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LHG) leaks from gas cylinder hoses. It included practical training on closing emergency shut-off valves and instructions on preventing gas leaks. Participants had the opportunity to watch a training film on emergency rescue operations at gas stations and gas storage facilities, as well as films related to fire safety and the proper use of portable fire extinguishers and fire blankets.

The lecture given by the deputy chief of the fire department in Pomorie was extremely useful, providing valuable information on how to properly extinguish fires in cars with gas systems. After the lecture, a team from the Regional Fire Safety Directorate demonstrated emergency procedures, including the use of specialized firefighting equipment and working with gas installations.

These training courses are extremely important for the safety of propane-butane workers and the security of gas station customers. The annual initiative aims to provide teams with the knowledge and skills they need to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
