On August 1, 2023, changes were published in the State Gazette concerning the return of the excise duty rate for LPG (LPG or propane-butane) motor fuel to BGN 340/ton, as it was until the beginning of July 2022.
The zero rate was a temporary anti-crisis measure in response to high energy prices.
The texts concerning the abolition of zero rates for LPG and methane are in §27 – deletion of §6b from the transitional provisions of the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act and in §46t.1. The date of entry into force is 01.08.2023.
