Our entire team at V-Gas puts safety first. That is why it is extremely important for us to ensure the safe use of propane-butane cylinders and compliance with all safety requirements of national and European legislation. Safety must also be a priority for you, our customers, when using our products.
It is your responsibility not to drop or damage the bottle in any other way and to ensure that:
- the appliances that will use propane-butane are in full working order
- do not fill the bottles yourself
- Do not keep bottles near sources of open flames.
- the bottles are placed in a vertical position
That is why, after giving you the basic safety tips for working with gas cylinders, we would like to remind you of a few more important recommendations for using gas cylinders.
- !DO NOT defrost gas cylinders using electrical appliances such as hair dryers, fan and convector heaters, or other sources of heat.
- ! DO NOT store more than two bottles in one room, regardless of whether they are full or not.
- !DO NOT transport the cylinder with the valve open.
- !DO NOT smoke in the immediate vicinity of gas cylinders.
- !DO NOT place textiles or plastic items near bottles and gas appliances.
- !DO NOT attempt to fill or transfer gas from one cylinder to another.
- YES – keep bottles out of reach of children.
- !YES – after stopping working with the device, stop the flow of gas from the cylinder by closing the valve, regardless of whether the gas appliance has a shut-off valve.
- !YES – check bottles for corrosion, leaks, cracks and other damage. immediately before each use.
- YES – monitor the appliances during operation for gas leaks and check for leaks with soapy foam, but under no circumstances with an open flame.
- !YES – apply the advice for safety and to empty bottles, because they can be just as dangerous as as much as full ones.
- YES – It is recommended that you obtain a small powder fire extinguisher and familiarize yourself with its operation in advance in case of need.
Follow these safety tips and remember—when used and handled according to established procedures, propane (LPG) is safe. As with electricity, natural gas, oil, and other household heating and transportation fuels, you should always be careful when using propane.
